Civil engineers work on a project from beginning to end. They are responsible for the planning, design, construction and operation of the physical environment that allows society to function. Our integrated master's course explores areas such as construction management and technology, engineering geology, hydraulics and soil mechanics. You can also study specialisms in water engineering, bridge design and the design of concrete structures. This degree is attractive to employers. It meets the full academic requirements for registration as a Chartered Engineer and prepares you for engineering roles within construction, transportation, energy, water, and environmental and coastal defence. You'll also benefit from our links to clients and contractors across the industry. This degree is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Structural Engineers, Institute of Highway Engineers, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation and the Permanent Way Institution on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer (CEng).
