As well as preparing you to pursue further training for careers in Psychology, our degree helps you attain skills that prospective employers in a range of careers find attractive. Modules reflect the breadth of the discipline, from cognitive psychology and neuroscience to developmental psychology and social psychology. The degree, which is accredited by the British Psychological Society, includes an empirical project in the final year. If you graduate with at least second-class honours and pass the empirical project, you will be eligible for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the BPS. This is a necessary first step for people hoping to undergo further training to become a Chartered Psychologist. We have a strong focus on clinical psychology, forensic psychology and child psychology through the degree, as well as offering a strong cross-cultural focus in all our modules. Our teaching is led by research and aims to help build transferable skills that you can take forward in your career after the degree.
